Are you searching for 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class? Don’t, because there is no one. But don’t worry; Mercedes-Benz was not going to discontinue its legendary roadster. 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is replaced by 2011 model year SL; however you can still find 2009 remaining cars for sale. 2011 SL remains virtually unchanged, except for a few small details. SL-Class was developed 57 years ago to be a racecar, but became a Dream car for the next generations to come.
SL Class models:
2011 Mercedes-Benz SL Class currently consists of 3 models: SL550 Roadster, SL63 AMG Roadster and SL65 AMG Roadster. At the time of writing this article, SL600 is out of production and it is questionable if this model will continue to be produced, because it seems to be not very competitive against SL63 AMG as far as performance and its price tag.
Dimensions:
All 3 SL-Class models share the same dimensions, except SL550 is 0.4 inch shorter, than 2 AMG models, due to the AMG sports body curves. While all dimensions are virtually identical, SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG look distinctly different from SL550. Even though, all of them share the same body, at the same time AMG models enjoy signature AMG sculpted lower body work, complimenting to the 19” AMG alloy wheels.
Exclusivity:
2011 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG are truly limited, hand-assembled and hand-tuned by the few finest Mercedes-Benz master technicians. If you open the hood of any AMG model – you will find the signature of the assemblyman right on top of the engine (!) to signify the mix of Art and Technology. On another hand, SL550 is built in the regular production, which is also the State of the Art.
Powertrain:
Mercedes-Benz SL550 benefits from the time-proven 5.5 liter V8 engine, which outputs healthy 382 Horsepower and propels this model from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.3 seconds. 6.2 liter V8 engine of SL63 AMG produces 518 Horsepower (!), which can thrust this model from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 4.5 seconds. SL65 AMG owns 6.0 liter V12, which is also turbocharged by AMG guys (!). This monster pushes SL65 AMG to go from 0 to 60 in just 4.2 seconds: if you go straight or uphill – really makes no difference!
Fuel economy:
13 miles per gallon in the average City drive and 21 miles per gallon on the Highway drive for SL550, 12 City/ 19 Highway MPG for SL63 AMG and 11 City/ 18 Highway for SL65 AMG – is very impressive for this kind of power. For the complete specifications and brochure, please visit BenzOnly.com

Convertible Hard Top:
All 2011 Mercedes SL-Class models come with convertible Hard Top as standard equipment. It is faster than any other convertible Hard Top in production (!). You can close or open it by using the center console switch or the remote key in your hand. It takes just 16 seconds to go from the coupe to roadster and vice versa!
Body Structure:
2011 Mercedes Benz SL-Class offers an array of precision safety essentials to protect the driver and passengers in the event of an accident. It uses High-Strength/Low-Alloy steel in the vital areas of the vehicle to withstand the collapse. The advanced front and rear crumple zones deform gradually to help absorb the energy of an impact away from the passengers. A front wall redirects the forces of a frontal impact under, over, and around the cabin – in the pre-programmed way!
Safety:
The list is so long, that BenzOnly.com will mention just a few features: Pop-up roll bar - when sensors detect an imminent rollover, a roll bar pops up in just 0.3 seconds to protect the space inside the open convertible vehicle, 7-way air-bag protection, advanced tire-pressure monitoring system, Emergency Tensioning Devices, Bi-Xenon headlamps with Active Curve Illumination, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist, Parktronic and list goes on…
Toys:
Standard equipment of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class generously includes: Leather interior and leather steering wheel, memory for positions, heated multi-adjustable seats, dual zone climate control, interior dust filter, 510 Watt Harmon/Kardon Sound system, 6 CD Changer, MP3 player, GPS hard drive Navigation system with 6.5 in screen and voice activation.
Bottom line:
2011 SL550 has everything you need and more, however if you shop for the over $100k vehicle – you may as well choose SL63 AMG, because of the superior performance, exclusivity and timeless look. SL65 AMG is for someone who looks for the racing breed and accepts no substitute. After all, BenzOnly.com aims to give you the useful information to digest, but lets you decide.
