2010 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Overview (Non AMG).

    Mercedes-Benz came a long way after an introduction of the first of its kind “Luxury SUV” - M‑Class more than a decade ago. Using the first 4 Wheel independent suspension and stability control in its class, certified low emissions and class-leading safety features, it completely changed the “sport utility vehicle” market. Today, 2010 ML Class has evolved to offer unmatched choices in clean, efficient power, top safety scores, the right balance of space, size, and innovations that gives a World-Class Star treatment.

    Power:
    Impressive V‑6 and V‑8 gasoline engines provide plenty of power, but at the same time have low emissions. 50 State BlueTEC clean diesel engine deliver 1/4 a volcanic 400 lb per ft of torque, producing 24 highway mpg and earning Ultra Low Emission Vehicle credentials, even in the States with the most strict standards, like California. All new full-hybrid drivetrain combines a super efficient V‑6 gasoline engine with the two electric motors, powerful enough to drive the vehicle without gasoline assist in many different circumstances.

    Safety:
    The M‑Class has earned the best-in-class government safety ratings. Named a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it also received a full five stars from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) in all of the frontal and side collision tests. 10-way protection of the 8 standard air bags, NECK‑PRO active front head restraints, the POST‑SAFE system, which can automatically turn on the hazard flashers and interior lights, unlock the doors and shut off the engine after a collision – are the efforts of the Mercedes-Benz to stress the importance of safety measures. PRE‑SAFE system is a standard equipment. When PRE‑SAFE detects that a frontal impact is imminent, it will tighten the front seat belts, and even close the windows and sunroof to prepare the passengers. It’s self intelligent! 2010 M‑Class knows: the best way to survive an accident - is to avoid one. Another emergency – sensing innovation is 4 Wheel Antilock Disk Brakes with Brake Assist, which can apply an additional braking force, depending on the driver behavior in an emergency. (ESP) Electronic Stability Program accurately draws safety forward by serving the towing of up to 7,200 lbs. and helps sustain the driver’s anticipated course in corners or slippery maneuvers. When towing, the standard Trailer Stability Assist can sense trailer sway and then intentionally apply the brakes to help bring it under control.

    Drivetrain:
    The M‑Class is commonly well-known for its Off-road performance. 4MATIC All-wheel drive can adapt instantaneously to any curves of the road, sending torque to the each of the 4 tires that can use it the most. 19" wheels and supple 4 Wheel independent suspension deliver quick reflexes, to handle with self-assurance whether the road ahead is rough, smooth or curvy. Available 4MATIC full time All-Wheel Drive also incorporates the 4‑wheel Electronic Traction System. 4‑ETS continuously monitors for the first signs of wheel spin and instantly redirects the engine’s torque to the wheels or wheel, with the best possible grip. When taking an uphill slope, the standard Hill Start Assist feature automatically holds the brakes for a moment after the driver releases the brake pedal. This helps to keep the vehicle from rolling back before you start driving away.

    Toys:
    19" wheels are on every model. 20" wheels are optional on the ML350 and ML550.
